In order to fulfill Russia's ultimatum, it is necessary to destroy all Ukrainians. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in an interview with the world media, according to the Office of the President.
"When we can stop this war is the question now. I think that Russia should not throw loud phrases either, they will not lead to anything. Like, 'we have an ultimatum, here are the points, fulfill them, and then we will end the war.' This will lead to nothing, no result. It's not a question of me. We all can't do it. The ultimatum can't be fulfilled by Ukraine. We have lost people. That is, it is necessary to destroy us all, and then the ultimatum will automatically be fulfilled," Zelensky noted.
According to him, the fulfillment of the Russian ultimatum will actually lead to the destruction of the Ukrainian people, so it cannot be fulfilled physically. But Ukraine strives for peace, so it is open to dialogue. At the same time, increased sanctions pressure on Russia could cause a serious blow to its economic and domestic political situation.
"If we want peace, we have to sit down and talk. The right word is negotiate. But to negotiate, not to carry out an ultimatum. This is an important point. It is possible to find a compromise in dialogue," the president stressed.
Zelensky reported that he was ready to raise the issue of Crimea and Donbas at a meeting with Putin.
In addition, the president said that the final compromise in the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia will be decided by an all-Ukrainian referendum. This applies to the issues of security guarantees, the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas and Crimea.
