As of today, there are officially 562 Russian servicemen in Ukrainian captivity. However, Russia does not disclose the number of Ukrainian prisoners of war. This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Reintegration Iryna Vereshchuk in an interview for TSN.
"If we are talking about Russian military prisoners of war, we have 562 people. Because there is the so-called "cargo 200". We also form it and also organize it. Together with the Red Cross," she said.
According to her, the Ukrainian side sends special cards to the Red Cross for each prisoner.
"We do everything in accordance with international humanitarian law. What cannot be said about Russia. Russia still has not given an answer to how many prisoners they have, and the Red Cross has no influence on this," she added.
