Ukraine has created a national information bureau in accordance with the Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners of war, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk.
"As of today we have established a national information bureau in accordance with the Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners of war of August 12, 1949. It is determined that the state enterprise Ukrainian National Peace Development Center, which belongs to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories will be a legal special public law and perform the functions of the national information bureau," Vereshchuk said.
According to her, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported the creation of the bureau to the International Red Cross.
"We hope that our work will be fruitful and, most importantly, effective," Vereshchuk concluded.
