Zelensky signed the law on criminal liability for cooperation with Russia - Kornienko

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed laws criminalizing cooperation with Russia (collaborationism), First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Kornienko said.

"The law on collaborationism has already been signed by the president, according to my information, and will be published," Kornienko said on the air of 1+1 television channel on Tuesday.

As reported, on March 3, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in general bills No. 5143 and No. 5144 on combating collaborationism.

Thus, for cooperation with the aggressor state, its occupation administration, armed or paramilitary formations in the military, political, informational, administrative, economic or labor spheres, access to holding public office, as well as positions in local government for a period of 15 years is limited.

Collaborators will not be able to be members of election commissions, official observers, authorized representatives of a presidential candidate in the Central Election Commission, proxies of a presidential candidate, candidates in local elections, etc. in the future.
