Japan and Ukraine signed an intergovernmental agreement in the form of an exchange of notes. The country will donate protective equipment to our army on a free-of-charge basis. This was announced by the plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to Japan Sergey Korsunskyy on his Facebook page.

Japan will transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine flak jackets, helmets, tents, winter clothing, medicines, generators, cameras and other weapons that can be used in emergency situations.

Korsunsky noted that such an act took place for the first time in Japanese history.

"Today was the signing of an intergovernmental agreement in the form of an exchange of notes between Ukraine and Japan regarding the provision of protective equipment for the needs of the Armed Forces on a gratuitous basis to the Government of Ukraine," the ambassador wrote.

Korsunsky noted that Japan is providing unprecedented support to Ukraine.
