During an attack by Russian servicemen on the town of Vorzel in the Kiev region, debris hit an orphanage.
This was reported by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Iryna Venediktova on her Facebook page.
"During the conduct of hostilities by soldiers of the Russian Federation allowed debris from probably Grad volley fire systems to hit one of the premises of an orphanage in the city of Vorzel, Kiev region, where there were 50 children," said the prosecutor general.
She added that as a result of the above unlawful actions there were no victims, because at the time of the impact of shrapnel children and staff of the orphanage were in other rooms.
"At the moment, the children from the orphanage have not been evacuated, there are no bomb shelters or basement rooms on the territory of the orphanage. The prosecutor's office intervened to evacuate them," said Irina Venediktova.
The head of the regional state administration said that children from the orphanage had already been evacuated.
