European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the European Union is ready to accept an unlimited number of refugees from Ukraine and provide any humanitarian aid.

"We are also ready to give asylum to all refugees, we are ready to provide all humanitarian aid immediately, whatever is needed, in addition to macro-financial assistance to Ukraine of over 1 billion euros. We don't know how many refugees there will be, but we are fully prepared to receive them," von der Leyen said at a briefing in Brussels on Thursday.
