President Volodymyr Zelensky has held a meeting with representatives of the business community - members of the European Business Association, during which he spoke about the steps taken by the authorities to support the Ukrainian economy, the Ukrainian president's official website has reported.

Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that Ukraine is doing everything to strengthen its defense capability and to be able to respond to any development near the borders. In particular, there are planned exercises, activities aimed at improving the supply of troops.

"Today we have enough forces and weapons to adequately defend our state without involving anyone but the military," he assured.

The head of state stressed at the meeting that the issue of security should not affect the vital activity of the country. The President stressed: the economic situation in Ukraine today is stable, which is reflected in the strengthening of the hryvnia.

"The main task of the President and the Government of the country is business, economy, investment climate. Everyone understands what kind of neighbor we have, but it should not affect the economy", - convinced Volodymyr Zelensky.

In order to ensure the stability of economy and national currency, Ukrainian authorities had a series of negotiations with international partners to receive financial support. As a result - the allocation of macrofinancial assistance from the EU and other countries, which was also a positive signal for business, said the Head of State.

Rostislav Shurma, deputy head of the Presidential Office, said that the government plans to launch a program of subsidizing interest rates for consumers in the near future. There are also plans to stimulate the construction of new housing, thermo-modernization of residential buildings, the placement of production of electric cars in Ukraine, which will be sold through the mechanism of affordable loans.

In addition, there are intentions to attract investment in industries where it is difficult for Ukrainian manufacturers to compete in the cost of financing.

According to forecasts, these measures will contribute to the revival of aircraft, ship, carriage construction and production of irrigation equipment.

Small and medium-sized businesses will continue to receive affordable loans under the program "5-7-9%", assured Rostislav Shurma.

He separately dwelt on the issue of development of the country's digital economy and digitalization of public services. Thus, according to deputy head of the Office of the President, the recent launch of one of the best tax and legal regimes for IT-business "City" will make Ukraine attractive for IT-companies and startups and increase budget revenues.

In turn, executive director of the European Business Association Anna Derevyanko noted the importance of completing a number of reforms, particularly judicial, as well as combating smuggling. At the same time, the executive director of the European Business Association expressed support for the government's steps aimed at bringing businesses out of the shadows and resolving the issue of e-commerce.

"We should try to bring everyone to a transparent plane", - said Anna Derevyanko.
