Croatia will withdraw its military from NATO in case of Russian invasion of Ukraine

Ukraine has no place in NATO, and in the case of Russian-Ukrainian escalation there will not be a single Croatian soldier in the combat zone. This was stated by Croatian President Zoran Milanovic during a visit to the Kraš factory.

Commenting on Croatia's actions in the event of an escalation of the situation in Ukraine, he said that Croatia will stand aside and will not send troops.

"I have no idea about that. And I am the commander-in-chief of the army. I'm looking at statements in which NATO is increasing its presence, sending some reconnaissance ships. We have nothing to do with it, I guarantee you that. Croatia will not send troops, not a single Croatian soldier," he said.

According to him, such a position is not related to Russia or Ukraine, but primarily to U.S. policy.

"Not only will we not send military personnel, but if there is an escalation, we will recall every last Croatian soldier. It has nothing to do with Ukraine or Russia, it has to do with the dynamics of American domestic policy, Joe Biden and his administration, which I supported, the only one in Europe ... but I see dangerous behavior in matters of international security," the Croatian president said.
