The US will announce sanctions against Ukrainian corrupt officials at the Democracy Summit.
This was stated by the U.S. Charge d'Affaires in Ukraine Christine Quinn at the conference "Seven years of anti-corruption reform," reports RBC-Ukraine.
"The Biden administration has included the fight against corruption in the themes of the summit, which begins today, and Ukraine also takes part in this summit. I would also like to say that today at 5:30 pm look, a very important announcement will be. It will talk about U.S. sanctions that show determination to hold corrupt individuals accountable. You'll probably recognize someone on that list," Quinn noted.
Last week it became known that the U.S. Treasury Department would impose a number of sanctions as part of the U.S. administration's Summit for Democracy. It is not yet known who will be on the list.
We shall remind you that earlier the USA published the country's first ever anti-corruption strategy.
