U.S. Charge d'Affaires Christina Quinn has met with Kiev mayor Vitaliy Klitschko. This was reported by the press service of the U.S. Embassy in Kiev.

At the talks, the American diplomat assured that the States continue to support the people of Kiev in the face of military aggression by Russia, and the crisis that was created by Moscow has only strengthened the support of partners and friends of Ukraine.

"The crisis has raised the resolve of its defenders and created opportunities for political unity in support of Ukraine's bright future," the embassy said in a statement.

After the meeting, Kiev mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said that during the dialogue with Christine Quinn, Kiev's readiness for a possible Russian invasion was discussed, as well as issues related to the training of self-defense forces.

During the talks, the U.S. chargé d'affaires emphasized that a stop in other regions of Ukraine depends on a stable situation in the capital.

"We are also united in the opinion that today is the time for all branches of government and for all political forces to join forces to defend Ukraine. Quarrels and political aikido in the country only destabilize the situation, which can be used by the enemy. And we have only one enemy. It is the Russian aggressor," Vitali Klitschko summed up in his Facebook.
