The EU once again expressed strong support for Ukraine in the face of threats

The European Union will support Ukraine in the face of all contingencies. The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said this in an interview with the Italian publication La Reppublica, reports UNN.

"As we say in Brussels, I am concerned. Ukraine is certainly a partner and an ally. Therefore, we will support her. In addition, the U.S. has made it very clear that any attack by Russia will not go without consequences," Borrel said.

He recalled that next week in Brussels there will be a meeting with the Eastern Partnership countries

"And the time will come to emphasize our strong support for Ukraine," Borrel added.

The politician added that work is being done now to prevent a crisis, but "in the face of all contingencies, the EU will stand firmly for Ukraine." At the same time, he did not name specific measures that would be taken in case of a Russian attack.

In October, a number of respected U.S. media outlets reported that Russia was building up troops near Ukraine's borders.

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken warned Russia about the high price of possible aggression.
