Changes in electricity distribution: Ukraine switches to test mode of outage schedules

In order to reduce the duration of power supply restrictions, Ukraine introduces a new procedure for using hourly outage schedules. On June 8, the country will start testing this system.

Yuri Vlasenko, First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Energy, said that the new system provides for a detailed distribution of restrictions depending on the needs and capabilities of a particular region.

The distribution system operators (oblenergo) have to flexibly manage the outage queues to use the set limits. This can lead to a reduction in the number of queues and, accordingly, provide more hours of electricity supply for citizens.
