Political dialogues: Ukraine and China discussed key issues

The Deputy Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and China, Andriy Sybiga and Sun Weidong, met for political consultations. This information was made public by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.


Important aspects of the bilateral agenda were discussed during the meeting. The parties agreed to further intensify contacts at various levels and to strengthen trade and economic cooperation. The need for cooperation within international organizations was also mentioned.


The parties emphasized the importance of adhering to the principles of international law, in particular the principles enshrined in the UN Charter. The interlocutors also emphasized mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.


Andriy Sybiga also told his Chinese counterpart on the situation in Ukraine and preparations for the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland. The Ukrainian side expressed hope for China's participation in this event as an opportunity to contribute to the achievement of peace in Ukraine.


Sibiga emphasized that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky's Peace Formula is the basis for achieving peace in the country.


As part of the visit to Beijing, meetings were also held with the Chinese government's special representative for Eurasia Li Hui and, deputy head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Chen Zhou.
