As early as July, Ukrainians will be without electricity for 10 hours a day - expert

Ukraine continues to experience a difficult situation in the power system due to damage caused by Russian shelling. As early as July, power outages of up to 10 hours are possible. This was stated by the head of the Union of Utilities Consumers, Oleh Popenko, during a telethon.

According to him, we should not expect a reduction in the duration of outages, as Ukraine lacks generation to cover all needs.

At the same time, imports cannot cover this deficit either.

“We have no generation. We cannot cover our needs with imports to the maximum extent possible. As of today, the situation looks like there is nothing to feed into the grid to cover all the needs in Ukraine,” Popenko said.

He noted that the situation is expected to improve in September, until then there will be power outages for 6-8 hours.
