Brazil and China call for peace conference with participation of Russia, and Ukraine - Bloomberg

Brazil and China are calling for a peace conference with the participation of both Russia and Ukraine. This was reported by Bloomberg.

On Thursday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Brazilian Presidential Chief Advisor Celso Amorim met and issued a statement outlining a “common understanding” on the way to resolving the war.

This is the first time that China has signed a joint declaration with another country on the war, the publication notes.

“China and Brazil support the holding of an international peace conference at an appropriate time, recognized by both Russia and Ukraine, with equal participation of all parties, as well as a fair discussion of all peace plans,” the statement said.

Brazil and China also demand that all parties adhere to the three principles of de-escalation: not to expand the battlefield, not to intensify hostilities, and to avoid provocations. In the statement, the countries also emphasize the inadmissibility of the use of weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, and draw attention to the need to prevent nuclear proliferation and avoid a nuclear crisis.
