Due to the mobilization of public transport drivers, the number of buses on the routes in Mykolaiv will be reduced

Due to the mobilization of public transport drivers in Mykolaiv, two fewer municipal buses will be running on city routes than usual starting May 27. This was announced by the mayor of the city, Oleksandr Syenkevych.

“That is, the buses will be parked, but there will be no one to drive them,” Syenkevych said.

During the briefing, the mayor said that on May 21, 39 trolleybuses, 27 trams and 22 buses started running.

“We have additional vehicles, but there are no people on them. That is, this number is 22, it could be higher,” Syenkevych said.

In addition, the mayor said that female drivers “are happy to work on the tram, with some caution on trolleybuses, and do not want to work on buses.”

“Although to be honest, I don't understand what the difference between a trolleybus and a bus is. Even a trolleybus is harder to work on than a bus, because it is tied to a contact network,” says Syenkevych.
