Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit Spain to sign a security agreement, El Pais reports.
The publication writes that the Ukrainian president will arrive in Spain in the coming days to sign a bilateral security agreement with Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
It is noted that the agreement that Madrid will conclude with Kyiv will be similar to those that Ukraine has previously signed with Denmark, Germany, France, Great Britain, and other countries.
This will be Zelensky's first official visit to Spain, although he already flew to Granada in October 2023 for a European summit.
At the same time, the Spanish Ministry of Defense is finalizing a new military aid package for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. First of all, Madrid is finally due to hand over the first 10 Leopard 2 A4 tanks to Kyiv by June 30, out of a total batch of 19. All of them are currently being repaired at Spanish military bases.
The aid package also includes armored personnel carriers, anti-tank equipment, artillery shells, light and heavy machine guns, and logistical support vehicles.
