National Security Advisor to the President of the United States Jake Sullivan at a briefing confirmed the information of Reuters that ATACMS missiles had already been delivered to Ukraine. He said that the USA wilkl continue to supply them to Kyiv.
"As I said in my opening remarks, we've already sent some, and now that we have additional authority and funds, we will send more," Sullivan said.
Sullivan noted that in February, US President Joe Biden ordered a "significant number" of ATACMS missiles to Ukraine. They were included in the aid package that the American leader approved on March 12.
"These missiles have already arrived in Ukraine. This happened after Russia used North Korean ballistic missiles against Ukraine and increased attacks on civilian infrastructure," he said.
The US President's advisor emphasized that Ukraine has committed to use ATACMS only within the country, and not to strike targets in Russia.
It is worth noting that it is not clear from the statements which range missiles it is about. So far, the United States has sent Ukraine missiles with a range of 160 km. Now, Western media are reporting that the United States may send missiles with a range of 300 km.
