GUR: Kremlin wants to discredit Ukraine in the Global South using the terrorist attack in Crocus

Russia may use Ukraine's accusations of involvement in the Crocus terrorist attack to undermine Kyiv's authority in the countries of the Global South. This was reported by a representative of Ukrainian military intelligence, Andriy Yusov.

According to him, the Kremlin wants to use the terrorist attack in the Crocus concert hall to its advantage, but "it will be a game for the domestic and foreign public" because Russia is already using all possible weapons against Ukraine, except for weapons of mass destruction.

"Russia is trying to pretend to be a victim to reset its image as an aggressor country. Because it is the Putin's regime that remains the main source of terrorist threats, in particular in the world, and carries out terrorist attacks against our country and our population on a daily basis," Yusov said.

The representative of the department said that "Russians continue information operations to discredit Ukraine and its leadership in the international arena, and may also use fake accusations in the countries of the Global South."

"Here, unfortunately, there is no limit to the cynicism of Putin's Russia, well, as in the end, there is nothing new in these accusations," he summarized.
