Erdogan signs ratification of Sweden's NATO membership

On January 25, Turkish President Recep Erdogan officially approved Turkey's ratification of Sweden's membership in NATO. This was reported by the Official Gazette.

"The ratification of the Protocol on the Accession of the Kingdom of Sweden to the North Atlantic Treaty, signed in Brussels on July 5, 2022, has been approved. The provisions of this law are put into effect by the President of the Republic," the document says.

As a reminder, on January 23, the Turkish parliament approved Sweden's application to join NATO. Thus, Hungary is now the only member state of the Alliance that has not yet ratified Sweden's accession.
