Bad weather in Ukraine: More than a thousand settlements were left without electricity

Due to the bad weather, which continues to persist in Ukraine, 1025 settlements are without power. Due to squally winds and frostbite on power lines, most outages are in Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kirovohrad regions, the Energy Ministry reports.

Almost 29,000 consumers in 324 settlements in Dnipropetrovsk region were left without power, 268 settlements in Odesa region, 215 in Mykolaiv region, and 146 in Kirovohrad region.

In addition, there are power outages in Zaporizhzhia region - 59 settlements, Kherson region - 14, Chernihiv region - 9 and Chernivtsi region - 8.

"Emergency crews (272 crews and 235 units of equipment) in the regions affected by the weather have been switched to round-the-clock operation. Additional equipment is being sent there from other regions. However, work and movement are hampered by ice," the statement said.

The Ministry of Energy emphasized that power engineers are working hard to restore electricity as soon as possible.
