The mission, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Business and the Ministry of Defense on December 13-14, is a logical follow-up to discussions initiated during the DSEI defense industry exhibition in London on possible partnerships between British and Ukrainian companies.
During the meetings that took place during the visit, British and Ukrainian officials interacted with representatives of the defense sector of both countries, discussing the prospects for long-term cooperation. These meetings resulted in a number of agreements.
In particular, Babcock received a long-term contract from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to maintain the Cherkasy and Chernihiv mine countermeasures vessels previously transferred by the UK and has already opened its office in Ukraine.
BAE Systems and AMS Integrated Solutions Ltd have signed an agreement to provide direct specialized support to Ukrainian artillery systems on their territory. In particular, the artillery transferred by the UK will be serviced and repaired at AMS centers in Ukraine, with the participation of Ukrainian specialists.
Thales signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ukrainian company Aerodrone to develop drones to provide new capabilities for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The mission included representatives of BAE Systems, Babcock, Thales, AMS Global, and KBR. It is noted that in 2024, new similar missions are planned, in which other companies of the defense industry will take part.
