Rheinmetall receives order for €142 million worth of artillery shells for Ukraine

Germany's largest arms concern Rheinmetall has received an order to supply artillery shells to Ukraine worth about 142 million euros. This was announced in the company's statement.

The agreement includes the supply of tens of thousands of 155 mm artillery shells manufactured by Rheinmetall Expal Munitions, a new subsidiary of the concern from Spain. The first deliveries are scheduled for 2025.

It is noted that the demand for artillery ammunition is high, covering not only the needs of Ukraine but also the need to replenish the reserves of Germany and other NATO and EU countries.

In the future, Rheinmetall plans to significantly increase the production of artillery ammunition by expanding its capabilities at factories in Germany, Spain, South Africa and Australia, reaching an annual production of up to 700,000 shells.
