Putin made first trip abroad after arrest warrant issued for him

Russian President Vladimir Putin has held talks in Kyrgyzstan, a Central Asian country with strong ties to Moscow, on his first trip abroad since the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for him in March. This was reported by Reuters.

Putin has rarely traveled outside of Russia since the start of the armed conflict with Ukraine in February 2022, and he has not left the country since the ICC issued an arrest warrant for him on charges of abducting Ukrainian children.

Putin has also scheduled a trip to China next week to attend the third "Belt and Road" Forum in Beijing.

It is important to note that neither Kyrgyzstan nor China is a member of the ICC, which was created to prosecute individuals accused of war crimes.
