Ministry of Energy: Ukraine is ready for the heating season

The accumulated stocks of energy and generation facilities are sufficient for the heating season. Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk announced this during a telethon.

"Ukraine planned to accumulate 14.7 billion cubic meters of gas for the successful passage of the heating season, and last week this mark exceeded 15.7 billion cubic meters. According to the schedule, a large-scale repair campaign of all electricity generation and distribution facilities is underway. In particular, last week three powerful units of thermal power plants were repaired," said Svitlana Grynchuk.

She noted that the preparation of generation facilities and transmission systems is being carried out evenly in all regions of the country. At the same time, preparations for the winter season in the frontline regions are complicated due to shelling.

The representative of the Ministry of Energy assured that the damaged facilities are immediately repaired, although in some places this poses a direct threat to the repair crews.

"The repair brigades have repeatedly come under fire, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the brigade members. The brigades are working in contact with the military, but it is not yet possible to fully protect these people. Moreover, the enemy carries out targeted attacks on the repair crews," she clarified.
