Ukraine expects up to $14 billion in financial aid from the US - the Minister of Finance

Next year, Ukraine plans to ask the United States for financial aid in the amount of $12 to $14 billion due to high budget costs caused by the Russian invasion. This was reported by Finance Minister Sergiy Marchenko in Bloomberg.

"There are no negotiations yet, there are many uncertainties, and we are not sure that this is guaranteed," he told reporters.

In addition, Ukraine hopes to receive $3.3 billion from the US by the end of this year.

This year, Ukraine has already received about $10 billion in financial aid from the United States to cover its budget deficit, and it expects its financial needs to remain high next year.

Several months ago, President Joe Biden requested Congress to approve additional spending, including $24 billion for Ukraine, to continue supporting the country in its fight against Russian forces. This request has already received support from both parties in the Senate.
