President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky wants to discuss with US President Joe Biden the transfer of long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine this autumn, CNN reports.
Zelensky said he hopes to talk with US President Joe Biden about the transfer of ATACMS to Ukraine. He added that Biden's opinion and support is very important.
"I think he can turn this page of the war. He already did it once with HIMARS," he said.
The President added that this would not be the first conversation with Biden on ATACMS.
"We are making progress. I hope we will get them in the autumn," Zelensky said.
He also noted that it is very important for Ukraine not to pause in the counteroffensive, and that is why ATACMS is needed. For the same purpose, the pilots of the Ukrainian Air Force should be transferred to Western fighters as soon as possible.
"We all want to achieve success and a happy ending. But this is not an hour and a half movie. This is a counteroffensive. This is not a movie with a happy ending. We will not have a happy ending. We lost a lot of people. This is not a happy ending. We have to recognize this. And victory is the only thing that can bring deoccupation and prevent Russia from attacking other countries: the Baltic states, Poland, and returning us all to the Soviet Union," Zelensky added.
