Budanov on the liberation of Crimea: We fell off the schedule

Ukraine is moving towards the liberation of Crimea, but at a slower pace than expected, said the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kyrylo Budanov in an interview with Radio Liberty's "Crimea. Realities" project.

"Yes, we fell behind the schedule. Yes, unfortunately, we must admit that events are developing more slowly than they should be according to all calculations. But we have what we have. But if you look at Crimea and the level of hostilities that are taking place on the peninsula, you will realize that there is nothing to compare with 2022, I'm not talking about the period from 2014 to 2022, but we are going," Budanov emphasized.

He noted that intelligence forecasts are based on real facts, figures, economic and military indicators, but in reality, events at the front are of great importance.

"But there is also a reality that takes place, as they say, on the battlefield," he added.
