There can be no normal relations with current Russia - Berbok

German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock denies the possibility of maintaining "normal relations" with Russia, which carried out a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Burbok stated this in an interview with the Romanian portal Digi24.

"We must clearly realize that we cannot have normal relations with this Russia. Like many Russians, we want to see a peaceful and democratic Russia that is not a threat to its neighbors. But let's not have illusions - we live in a different reality. That is why the task there must be a strengthening of our common security against Russia on a permanent basis," said the head of the German Foreign Ministry.

She emphasized that the West will continue to strengthen sanctions against Russia as long as the "brutal aggressive war and violations of international law" continue, because "Ukraine also protects the freedom of Europe."

"That is why we will be by her side as long as necessary - with weapons, humanitarian and financial support," Burbok said.
