German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock rejected Poland's demand to pay billions in reparations for damages caused during the Second World War. This is written by Bild.
At a joint press conference with Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau in Warsaw, Berbok said that the issue of reparations is "closed" for Germany.
In doing so, she confirmed Germany's official position, which had been in effect for many years, which was that there were no legal grounds for reparations demands from Poland.
It will be recalled that on October 3, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland sent a diplomatic note to Berlin with a demand to compensate for the damages caused during the Second World War. The document states that the parties should take measures for "permanent settlement of the consequences of aggression and German occupation in 1939-1945".
