State Department official Ned Price confirmed on Tuesday reports that the US and Russia have agreed to hold talks on nuclear weapons.
This is reported by the Voice of America.
Ned Price said at the briefing that Washington and Moscow reached an agreement on negotiations on the resumption of inspections of nuclear facilities in accordance with the SNO-3 treaty. The US representative did not specify when and where the talks would take place.
"We have agreed that the bilateral advisory commission will meet in the near future in accordance with the terms of the ІН-3. Information about the commission's work is confidential, but we hope for a constructive meeting," said Price.
RosZMI reported on Tuesday that Russia and the United States are discussing holding talks on strategic nuclear weapons, the first since Russia launched a military invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
It is reported that the talks could take place in the Middle East, noting that Moscow no longer considers Switzerland, where similar meetings have been held before, to be sufficiently neutral after it imposed sanctions on Russia over Ukraine.
