The European Union declared that it is necessary to conduct negotiations with Russia. This will apply, in particular, to the topic of the Zaporizhzhya NPP. This was stated by the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell.
"Do we need to talk to the Russian leadership? We are diplomats and we are ready to talk to anyone who is ready to contact us," Borrell said.
The head of EU diplomacy said that French President Emmanuel Macron spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin in recent days.
"They discussed the security situation at the Zaporizhzhya NPP. We need to talk about it. We need to continue, for this there are all the necessary diplomatic channels," Borrell added.
According to him, there are issues that "cannot be solved without the Russians." Borrell mentioned the negotiations under the auspices of the UN, which allowed to unblock the supply of agricultural products to world markets.
