The head of the German Foreign Ministry came to Kyiv - Spiegel

German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbok arrived in Kyiv for the second time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. This is reported by Spiegel.

With this trip, she wanted to show "that we will support Ukraine as much as it needs - with the supply of weapons, humanitarian and financial support," she said on Saturday morning after arriving in Kyiv.

"Today I came to Kyiv to show that they can continue to rely on us," Burbok said.

For more than six months, Ukrainians have been fighting for everything - "for their lives, for the lives of their families and their friends." In doing so, they are not only defending their human right to peace and freedom, but also our European peace order.

The politician left on Saturday night by special train together with a small delegation from Poland to Kyiv. In Kyiv, Berbok wants to hold negotiations, in particular with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba. Other programs were kept secret for security reasons.

With his visit, Berbock wants to send a signal against the threat of war fatigue in Germany.

"It is clear to me that Putin is counting on us to tire of sympathizing with Ukraine's suffering. He thinks he can divide our societies with lies and blackmail us with energy supplies. And that he can drain our energy to protect himself from this brutal attack on everyone's values "Putin's calculations should not work and will not work," said the head of the German Foreign Ministry.

Burbock mentioned two specific topics that are important to her during the visit: helping Germany in demining and supporting the war crimes case.
