The US approved the sale of arms to Taiwan for 1 billion dollars - China reacted

The United States announced on Friday three contracts worth $1.1 billion to sell arms and provide technical services to Taiwan. This is reported by Reuters.

The package includes 60 anti-ship missiles and 100 air-to-air missiles. In particular, these are Sidewinder missiles and related equipment worth about $85.6 million, Harpoon missiles and related equipment worth about $355 million.

It is also about support for Taiwan's surveillance radar program and related equipment worth about $665.4 million.

Liu Pengyu, a spokesman for the Chinese Embassy in Washington, said that Taiwan's arms sales and military contacts could cause even greater damage to US-China relations and exacerbate the situation in the Taiwan Strait.
