The French company Engie, the country's largest gas supplier, said on August 30 that Gazprom had been notified of an additional reduction in gas supplies.
This is stated in their press release.
The reduction will take place as early as August 30 under the pretext of "disagreements between the parties regarding the performance of the contract."
The company notes that it has already accumulated sufficient volumes of gas to supply customers and has implemented a number of mitigation measures in the event of a complete shutdown of Russian gas supplies.
Recently, Engie received 1.5 TWh per month from Gazprom.
France has accused Moscow of using energy supplies as a "weapon of war" as Russian gas monopoly Gazprom cut supplies to energy company Engie and prepares to halt Nord Stream supplies to Germany.
This is reported by Reuters.
"It is quite obvious that Russia is using gas as a weapon of war, and we must be prepared for the worst-case scenario of a complete cessation of supplies," said French Energy Minister Agnes Pannier-Runachet.
French Prime Minister Elisabeth Bourne on Monday urged companies to draw up energy-saving plans by next month, warning that they would be the first to suffer if France is forced to ration gas and electricity supplies.
