Prime Minister of Georgia said that Arahamia prevented Tbilisi from obtaining EU candidate status

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Wednesday accused opposition MP Salome Samadashvili and Ukrainian MP David Arahamia of preventing Tbilisi from obtaining EU candidate status. This was reported by NetGazeti.

"One of the main initiators, who from Europe and the United States - I know it from our European and American colleagues - insisted that Georgia did not get candidate status, along with you, my dear opponents, was the representative of the Ukrainian government Mr. Arahamia," said Garibashvili, presenting a report on the government.

He added that Europe had allegedly received an "ultimatum": if Georgia gets candidate status, Ukraine would be "very disappointed."

"Arahamia, the holder of a Georgian surname, comes out with outrageous accusations. For example, his friends in Ukraine accuse us of allegedly ordering special services and helping Russian sub-sanctioned companies," the Georgian prime minister recalled.

Garibashvili also accused opposition MP Salome Samadashvili of allegedly "personally going to Brussels and asking not to grant status" to Georgia's EU candidate.

"Meet the traitor of the country," he commented, after which Samadashvili accused the prime minister of lying.
