Ukraine will receive equipment for aid centers and hospitals from Britain

Today, on 7 May, the United Kingdom made an announcement about strengthening humanitarian aid to Ukraine. In particular, it talked about providing more necessary equipment for aid centers and hospitals. This was reported by CNN.

In its statement, the British government said it would provide an additional 287 generators to help hold aid centers, hospitals, telephone masts and water pumping stations. The new generators are enough to power about 8,000 homes. They will be used for basic services as the devastation in eastern Ukraine continues.

"Hospitals, shelters and other essential services will have more power to operate in the face of ongoing Russian attacks with an additional 287 mobile generators donated by the British government," the statement said.

In total, Britain will supply 856 generators.

"Putin's atrocities continue to escalate, and so we are stepping up our support for the Ukrainian people at a difficult time. Our donation of another 287 generators will ensure that more important services in Ukraine continue," said Business and Energy Minister Kwasi Kwarteng.

The UK decision was made at the request of Ukrainian Ambassador Vadim Pristayko, who congratulated the tentative delivery of the generators, saying that "light will always conquer darkness," the statement said.

The generators will be delivered to the Polish government center. From there, the Ukrainian government and the country's energy networks will distribute the generators throughout the country to where they are most needed.
