German parliamentarians of the Bundestag have agreed to supply heavy weapons to Ukraine, Die Zeit writes.
"The Bundestag decided to supply heavy weapons to Ukraine. During a roll call vote, 586 deputies approved the request. 100 voted against, seven abstained," Die Zeit writes.
The parties to the political dispute settled it yesterday with a joint Bundestag statement on arms deliveries; the Union joined the movement of the SPD, the VDP and the Greens.
"Under the UN Charter, Germany also supplies Ukraine with weapons for self-defense and approves shipments from third countries," the document said. In agreement with NATO partners, this also applies to heavy weapons.
