Russian special services plan terrorist attacks on Russian territory to fuel anti-Ukrainian hysteria - Head of the State Security Service of Ukraine

To fuel anti-Ukrainian hysteria, the enemy is planning terrorist attacks on its territory. This was stated by the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Major General Kirill Budanov, writes SSSU MOU.

"Russian special services are planning a series of terrorist attacks with mines and bombing of houses, hospitals and schools in Russian settlements. As well as rocket and bomb attacks on the city of Belgorod or one of the cities of Crimea," said Budanov, who was quoted by the press service.

Budanov is convinced that the failure of the mobilization plan in Russia forces the Putin regime to launch dirty scenarios in order to emotionally stir up Russian society and consolidate it even more against the Ukrainians.

"To do this, they plan explosions in Russian residential buildings or rocket attacks to blame the Ukrainian Armed Forces and volunteer battalions in order to create an emotional picture of "atrocities by Ukrainian nationalists." It is quite possible that these terrorist attacks will be presented as revenge of the Ukrainians for Bucha and Kramatorsk and as justification of cruelty against Ukrainian civilians," the SSSU chief stressed.

"In recent days, the Russian authorities have been increasingly active in stirring up the flywheel of anti-Ukrainian hysteria. Trenches are actively being dug in the Belgorod and Kursk regions, panic is being built up over the alleged offensive of Ukrainian volunteer battalions and sabotage groups," Budanov added.

In his view, it's highly symbolic that Putin's reign began with the Gabesh terrorist attacks against Russian apartment buildings, which became the basis for the destruction of Chechnya. And now it seems to be ending using the same methods.

It should be recalled that the GUR of the MODU reported that because of the sanctions imposed in Russia, the fulfillment of the defense order is being disrupted.
