The President of Ukraine had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili.

In particular, Volodymyr Zelensky touched upon guaranteeing the rights of Ukrainian citizen Mikheil Saakashvili. He noted that Saakashvili's rights must be fully respected and in full compliance with the international legal framework.

It is unacceptable that disproportionate coercive measures are applied to a Ukrainian citizen, the President of Ukraine noted. In addition, Saakashvili must be allowed to see his mother and relatives.

Given the detainee's grave state of health, he needs medical help from Ukrainian doctors, Zelensky added.

"Ukraine always protects the legitimate rights and interests of its citizens," the President of Ukraine stressed.
