Zelensky discussed with the vice-president of Switzerland investment in Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has held a meeting with the vice-president and the head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation Ignazio Cassis.

The interlocutors discussed preparations for the 5th Conference on Reforms in Ukraine, which will take place July 4-5, 2022 in the Swiss city of Lugano.

"We are very much looking forward to the Conference on reforms in Ukraine, which will be held next year in your native canton of Ticino," - said Vladimir Zelensky, referring to Ignazio Cassis. This is reported by the Official Internet Representation of the President of Ukraine.

Special attention during the meeting was paid to bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

"Switzerland is an important trade and economic partner of Ukraine. We are interested in further attracting large-scale investments and the implementation of promising projects", - said Vladimir Zelensky.

It was noted that one of the most successful projects implemented in Ukraine is a project of the Swiss company Stadler Rail AG to modernize and produce in our country urban and suburban rail transport. The project is planned to be implemented in different cities of Ukraine.

The interlocutors praised the implementation of the project for the manufacture of artificial lung ventilation units in Ukraine, financed by Switzerland. The parties stressed the importance of joint ventilators manufacture, in particular, bearing in mind the next wave of COVID-19 pandemic in the world.

The parties paid considerable attention to the implementation of cultural projects aimed at popularizing Ukraine.

"Our goal is for the Ukrainian language to sound alongside other languages of the world in the most significant cultural and historical places," said Volodymyr Zelensky.

The head of state thanked Ignazio Cassis for the significant humanitarian assistance that Switzerland provides to our state, in particular to Ukrainians from both sides of the line of separation in Donbass.
