Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree increasing the number of military personnel in Russia’s armed forces by 15,500, Russian media reported.
Under the decree, the authorised strength of the Russian armed forces will rise to 2,441,630 personnel, including 1,550,500 active-duty service members.
“Set the authorised strength of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation at 2,441,630 personnel, including 1,550,500 military service members,” the decree states.
Previously, the Russian armed forces had an authorised strength of 2,426,130 personnel, including 1,535,000 service members.
