MP Horbenko: Ukraine needs to mobilize 100 – 110 thousand people in 2024

The need for mobilization of Ukrainians in 2024 is 110 thousand people. This was stated by MP Ruslan Horbenko in an interview.

“Currently, the command and the military at the front say that the need for personnel this year is 100-110 thousand people. In my personal opinion, it will be possible to recruit about 120 thousand new recruits this year,” said the MP.

According to him, Chief Zaluzhnyi planned to mobilize 500,000 people for a counteroffensive, while Syrskyi decided to stick to defense and mobilize fewer people. Horbenko made it clear that there might not have been enough weapons and money to supply half a million recruits.

“It is also important to take into account that to ensure the conscription of 500,000 people, weapons and a huge financial resource for their training and maintenance are needed,” Horbenko emphasized.

It is worth noting that the day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Armed Forces recruited about 50,000 soldiers during the mobilization last month alone. At the same time, the average monthly figure, according to him, fluctuates around 30 thousand recruits.

Ukraine has not confirmed these calculations. But, according to the Russian version, the pace of mobilization in Ukraine is faster than MP Horbenko says (an average of 10,000 per month).
