The situation in Ukraine's energy system will be much more complicated this week. This was stated by Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, CEO of Ukrenergo, during a telethon.

According to him, this is due to the planned repairs of two nuclear power plant units, as well as the consequences of the shelling of energy facilities on May 31 and June 1. As a result of these attacks, several TPPs and hydroelectric power plants were damaged. According to him, these facilities will produce less electricity than before.

Electricity consumption is also expected to increase due to rising temperatures and the use of air conditioners.

“The deficit that we were deprived of for a few days this week will return. And will return in a rather serious volume. It cannot be physically covered by electricity imports from Europe,” explained Kudrytskyi.

He informed that scheduled outages are expected throughout the week to balance the system. Kudrytskyi paid special attention to the morning and evening.
