At a briefing in Kyiv, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that America “does not encourage or facilitate” Ukraine to strike with US weapons outside its internationally recognized borders.
“The United States is committed to the cause of Ukraine and committed to ensuring that Ukraine wins this war. That is why we have provided and continue to provide assistance. But we do not encourage or facilitate strikes outside of Ukraine,” Blinken said.
But at the same time he added that Ukraine “must decide for itself how to conduct this war, which is being waged to protect its freedom and sovereignty.”
Earlier we reported that a delegation of MPs is currently in Washington, lobbying for the lifting of the ban on strikes on Russian territory with American weapons.
