Ukrainians will have to face an increase in electricity tariffs, the government is discussing this issue. Artem Martyniuk, acting CEO of Ukrainian Distribution Networks, said this during a telethon.

He said that Ukraine needs more than a billion dollars to prepare for the upcoming heating season.

“There are certain discussions today, and the decision will be made at the level of the National Electricity Regulatory Commission. In my opinion, we may still have to face a tariff increase. Currently, our domestic sources are not enough, we are being helped by neighboring countries and donors,” Martyniuk said.

At the same time, he claims that there will be no blackout in the country, but there may be restrictions on electricity consumption for industrial and household consumers.
