Latvian army builds fortifications near the border with Russia and Belarus

The Latvian army is building its own "Surovikin line" with "dragon's teeth" on the border with Russia and Belarus. This is reported by LSM.

It is reported that the project is designed for 5 years and will cost 303 million euros. Latvians will create a chain of strongholds along the border. The defense system will include "dragon's teeth" and an anti-tank ditch. They are not going to mine the border yet.

The first defensive line is being created one kilometer from the border, near the Terekhovo border crossing in the Ludza region.

To build these facilities, the state needs to obtain the consent of private owners.

They want to strengthen a 20-kilometer section in four months. There are already 2.5 km.

It should be noted that the Latvian-Russian border is 283.6 kilometers long.
