Oksana Zholnovych, Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, explained why American economic aid cannot be used to pay pensions.
"There are no solidarity pensions in America. There are accumulative insurance pension accounts. Therefore, it is very difficult for them, for their voters, to explain: if they do not pay any such pensions to their citizens, then why should they transfer pensions to Ukrainian citizens," she said during the telethon.
Zholnovych reminded that, in addition to the USA, Ukraine receives aid from Japan and the EU - 50 billion euros for four years, and these funds "will be used, among other things, for pension expenses."
