On January 1, 2024, the subsistence minimum for children increased in Ukraine. This also affected the amount of alimony. This was reported by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
In particular, the subsistence minimum for children under 6 years old has increased to UAH 2563; for children from 6 to 18 years old, it has risen to UAH 3196.
The Ministry noted that today the minimum guaranteed amount of alimony is:
- for children under 6 years of age - UAH 1,281.5;
- for children from 6 to 18 years old - UAH 1,598.
The maximum amount of alimony cannot exceed 10 subsistence minimums. For children under 6 years old - UAH 25,630. For children from 6 to 18 years old - UAH 31,960.
Alimony is calculated according to the scheme:
- for one child - 1/4 of the income;
- for two children - 1/3 of the income;
- for three or more children - 1/2 of the income.
In addition, from the age of 14, a child gets the right to manage alimony independently and be its direct recipient
